  • Healthy 'Nutella' smoothie

Chocolate and hazelnuts. A marriage made in heaven. Tell me I’m not the only one who can eat Nutella by the spoonful straight from the jar. But I would feel sick after… and thanks to this photo which went viral last year, I know why: Jar of Nutella seperated in to ingredients

Look at the ingredients: nutella jar ingredients

Nutella is 55% sugar! The second highest ingredient is vegetable oil (palm oil), a semi-solid fat that’s needed to give Nutella its spreadable texture. Palm oil is free of trans fat but is still high in saturated fat. Plus, Nestle is too tight to use the vanilla extract you use at home and use Vanillin instead - the artificial replica.

So, here’s a recipe to curb those Nutella cravings and feel great afterwards:
    4 frozen bananas
    1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 tablespoon hazelnut butter (store-bought, home-made or self-ground at About Life near the studio!)
    6 Medjool dates
    2-3 cups nut milk

Blend it all up, adding as much or as little nut milk as you want.
